Microsoft has introduced the Project Calendar Control feature in Project Operations to simplify the management of project calendars.
The previous process of copying work hours from resources to calendar templates and then to projects was cumbersome and inefficient.
The Project Calendar Control feature is designed for resource and non-stocked based scenarios in Project Operations.
It is compatible with Project Operations in a Microsoft Dataverse environment, version 4.88.0.127, and became generally available in November 2023.
The new feature allows project managers to directly access and edit project work hours through a dedicated calendar tab on the project entity.
The streamlined process eliminates the need for intermediary steps and offers a more intuitive way to manage project calendars.
Any changes made to work hours are instantly reflected in the project calendar, ensuring real-time updates.
The Project Calendar Control feature reduces confusion by implementing dynamic links instead of static copies, reducing discrepancies between calendar templates and project calendars.
The simplified process enhances collaboration among project teams by providing a clear and efficient way to manage work hours without complex copying procedures.
