The new sales pricing experience in Dynamics 365 Business Central was introduced in 2020 as an improvement to the existing pricing features.
The feature is still optional at the time of writing this article but will be automatically enabled in Q2 2024.
When enabling the new sales pricing experience, Business Central converts existing price lists to new ones, including purchase and job prices.
Business Central creates standard price lists in the database when the feature is enabled for the first time, and it is important to ensure that number series are correctly set before running the data update.
A default price list can be created for all customers, which applies to all customers in the Assign-to Type field.
Sales price lists can be created for specific customers or customer groups to reduce the number of price lists in the database.
Customer discount groups can also be used to apply different prices and discounts based on different customer categorizations.
Price lists can be created for contacts, allowing different prices to be applied to orders for the same customer with separate ship-to addresses.
