Fields in Business Central may contain different editable data such as text or currency amounts.
To modify the value of a field, you must first set focus to that field by using the Tab key or left-clicking with a mouse.
The article discusses three methods for updating records/fields in bulk in Business Central: Edit in Excel, Configuration Packages, and Customization.
Edit in Excel allows changes to be made in Excel and then published back to Business Central.
Configuration Packages can be used to set up Business Central according to best practices and requirements, and can also be used to update data as long as the primary key is unchanged.
Customization is recommended as a last resort, with examples provided for bulk updating Item Attributes and user roles/profiles.
A simple example of customizing bulk updating Item Description is provided, along with source code on Github for reference.
