- Configuration Packages in Dynamics 365 Business Central can be used to set up the system for new customers.
- They are an alternative to "Edit in Excel" for uploading data into Business Central.
- Errors can occur during data import, such as inserting values not in relation tables or using different primary keys.
- Errors are displayed in red and can be viewed in detail by clicking on the number of errors.
- All error messages can be viewed at once by selecting the Show Errors option on the Config. Package Card page.
- There are similar actions for exporting and importing data on both the Config. Package Card page and Config. Package Subform page.
- The Export to Excel action on the Config. Package Card page exports all tables, while the one on the Subform page only exports selected tables.
- Configuration Package Error (8617) records can also be exported for further analysis.
