Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25) public preview is available.
Archiving service management documents provides control over service data through audit trails and version control.
Sales and purchase orders, quotes, return orders, and blanket orders can be archived in Business Central.
Automatic archiving in Business Central creates a new version of archived documents when certain actions are taken.
Options for archiving service quotes and orders can be set up on the Service Management Setup page.
Manual archiving of service documents like service quotes, contract quotes, and orders is also possible.
Archived service documents are added to a list of Retention policy tables to control database size.
Codeunit 6041 "Service Document Archive Mgmt" can be used to handle the process of archiving Service Documents in code.
