Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 wave 1 (BC24) is now generally available.
The Copilot feature in Business Central allows users to easily access field-specific information from Microsoft Learn without having to search for it.
Copilot-powered chat is a new feature that guides users in learning and interacting with Business Central, reducing the time it takes to learn and accomplish tasks.
The feature will be released in various Microsoft Azure geographic areas, including Germany, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, United Kingdom, Australia, South America, India, Japan, France, and Korea.
Administrators in regions where Azure OpenAI Service is not yet available must consent to business data moving across geographic boundaries.
The "Learn more" link in tooltips has been replaced with an "Ask Copilot" link, which triggers the Copilot chat pane to open and automatically post in the chat, asking about the meaning of the field in question.
The Copilot chat functionality currently only works for fields native to Business Central, not for fields added by third-party apps.
Chat with Copilot starts rolling out with Update 24.0 to US customers and then proceeds to other regions.
The feature is available as a production-ready preview for production and sandbox environments in countries where Copilot Chat is enabled.
