Cross-docking in D365FO streamlines operations by transferring goods directly from inbound to outbound docks.
Purchase orders, transfer orders, or production orders are incoming orders for cross-docking.
Setups are necessary for cross-docking, including site, warehouse, locations, location profiles, types, formats, templates, work class, directive, and mobile device menu items.
Cross-docking process involves creating purchase and sales orders, marking sales orders with purchase orders, reserving inventory, releasing sales orders, and allocating quantities.
The mobile device is used for PO receiving, work generation, picking, putting at baydoor (cross-docking), and putting at bulk location.
Completion of the process involves confirming shipments, packing slips, and changing sales order status to "Shipped."
The entire cross-docking process is aimed at optimizing warehouse operations and fulfilling customer orders efficiently.
