Recording work in a project is a common requirement, including hours consumed by resources.
Solution D365FO involves a process where resources insert hours for projects, submit timesheets for approval, and have hours automatically posted on projects.
The process involves inserting hours consumed in Project management and accounting> Timesheets> My timesheets.
Additional information like activities, taxes, customers, and financial dimensions can be added to timesheets.
Workflow involves submitting timesheets for approval and posting approved hours on projects in Project management> Periodic> Timesheets> Post all approved timesheets.
Configuration includes setting up timesheet period types, project resources, approval workflows, and project parameters in respective sections.
Approval workflow is set as "Review timesheet workflow" with the component "Approve timesheet."
Project parameters include settings like the day the week starts, approved timesheet posting method, and maximum number of timesheets per period.
