The solution in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations involves configuring the Journal control by selecting the journal in General ledger> Journal setup> Journal names.
Account type values allowed in the journal can be specified in the configuration, and multiple account types can be added.
If an account type row is set as “Ledger,” additional information about main account and financial dimension can be added for validation.
When entering a journal in General ledger> Journal entries> General journals, the system will throw an error if an invalid account type, main account, or financial dimension is used based on the Journal control setup.
