Users often overlook a crucial step when setting up new Dimensions in Business Central, making them not easily visible.
The post guides users through adding a new Dimension and the final step to make Dimensions easily accessible.
Adding Dimensions in Business Central provides additional financial insights without creating new General Ledger accounts.
The process involves creating new Dimension Values and using them in General Journals.
Dimensions may not be immediately visible in journals, but can be accessed by clicking "Line > Dimensions."
To make Dimensions more accessible, designate them as "Shortcut" dimensions in the General Ledger Setup.
Only a maximum of eight shortcut dimensions can be designated, any additional dimensions will require more clicks to access.
Completing the final configuration step of adding Dimensions to the General Ledger Setup simplifies using them in Journals and Documents.
