Users no longer need to update their passwords regularly with the release of Multifactor authentication (MFA).
Organizations can still set a password expiration policy if desired.
To set the password expiration policy, go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and navigate to the Org Settings page.
In the Security and Privacy tab, choose Password expiration policy.
Uncheck the box to change the password policy and set how often passwords should expire (between 14 to 730 days).
The last password used cannot be reused when the user changes their password.
The password policy is applied to all user accounts created and managed in Microsoft Entra ID.
Users need to update their password after it expires.
