The new Linked Power Platform Environment option in Dynamics 365 Business Central allows for linking environments, providing default target environments for integrations.
Benefits of linking environments include inheriting settings from the Power Platform environment and streamlining integration processes.
Environments can be unlinked and relinked, with separate administration for lifecycle operations on each linked environment.
Unlinking a Business Central environment from a Power Platform environment disables inherited settings but does not affect integrations.
Initially, only the Customer Lockbox setting is inherited from a linked Power Platform environment.
Customer Lockbox allows customers to approve data access requests when Microsoft engineers need to access customer data.
Lockbox requests for Business Central can be managed in the Power Platform Admin Center by designated users.
The link between Dynamics 365 Business Central and a Power Platform environment can also be managed via Admin Center API.
