- Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25) public preview is available.
- The feature of pulling extension source from GitHub when opening Visual Studio Code from the web client is introduced in BC25.
- This feature allows accessing extension code from GitHub repositories and specific builds.
- In Business Central 2023 wave 2 (BC23), the feature of opening Visual Studio Code from the web client for debugging was introduced.
- A new "Open Source in VS Code" option is now available in the Extension Management list page in BC25.
- Settings in the app.json file such as "source" with repositoryUrl and commit need to be defined to enable the new feature.
- Visual Studio Code will prompt the user to clone or open the GitHub repo for the extension when the new button is clicked.
- The Extension Management page has also been updated with new tabs for Resource Protection Policies and Source control details.
- Microsoft AppSource apps feature will replace the Extension Marketplace in Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25).
