Sometimes, it is more convenient to work in Excel and then import data into D365FO when dealing with a large volume of data.
D365FO offers integration between some tables and Excel for data import.
Excel integration is natively configured, but additional customized templates can be set up through configuration changes.
Testing is highly recommended before integrating Excel with D365FO due to validation processes.
To integrate Excel with D365FO, go to the journal and select "Open line in Excel" using the standard template "General journal line entry".
Modify the data structure in Excel by adding or removing fields as needed, then refresh to import data from the journal.
Insert data into the table by inserting or deleting rows, with Excel suggesting values to insert from D365FO for some fields.
Optional configuration includes creating a template for reuse by modifying the template structure in Organization administration and setting up new templates for specific journal lines, which can be reused in the system.
