Business Central on-premises is available in several release versions, and upgrades may require going through intermediate releases.
Upgrading to the latest version of Business Central may require going through Business Central Spring 2019 (v14) if coming from version 13 or earlier.
Version 14 updates are compatible for upgrade with Business Central 2024 release wave 1 (version 24) and later release waves.
Direct upgrade from Business Central 2019 (v14) to the latest release will no longer be supported starting in 2025 release wave 1 (v26).
Various upgrade paths are detailed for different versions of NAV leading to the latest Business Central version 24.
Direct supported upgrade paths are outlined for NAV versions 2013, 2015, and 2018 to directly upgrade to the latest version 24.
