FlowFields in Business Central and NAV are powerful features that display calculated results based on the CalcFormula Property.
Standard FlowFields cannot be modified or extended in the current version, as the CalcFormula property cannot be customized.
Three methods to work around this limitation include copying standard FlowFields to create new fields, using security filters for record-level security, and utilizing the OnDrillDown (Page Field) Trigger to override default drill-down behavior.
Copying standard FlowFields involves modifying the CalcFormula Property and adding the new field to the page.
Security filters can be set up on permission sets to limit user access to specific data in a table, and once assigned, users cannot remove the security filter.
The OnDrillDown (Page Field) Trigger allows users to define drill-down results for a FlowField without changing the displayed value on the page.
These methods provide flexibility for customizing and enhancing standard FlowFields in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
