Sales quotes in Dynamics 365 Business Central are typically created to record offers to customers or prospects regarding certain products on specific delivery and payment terms.
Team Members license can be used to create sales quotes in Business Central.
It is possible to create a sales quote without a customer by using a contact instead, but items (or other sales line types) are required.
Master data for items or other sales line types is necessary when creating a sales quote.
The Catalog Items feature in Business Central allows for offering items to customers without managing them in the system until they are sold.
When adding items to a sales quote, they will be automatically converted into normal items.
It is not recommended to create a quote-specific item and modify the description each time, as manual adjustments will still be needed when converting to an order or invoice.
