Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25): Extend and customize profiles from other extensions (New object type: profileextension)

The public preview for Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25) is available.
Partners can now extend and customize profiles from other extensions in the release, addressing a current extensibility gap.
Personalization in Business Central allows users to customize their workspace, while administrators can customize page layouts for specific profiles based on business roles or departments.
Profile extension objects can now be defined in the AL code, enabling modifications to profile captions, role centers, and inclusion/removal from the role explorer.
A test code example showcases the creation of profile extensions for different roles, such as Business Manager, Sales Manager, and Project Manager.
Page customizations can be added to specified profiles through profile extensions, allowing for further customization of page layouts.
It is noted that pages modified by profile extensions will not be displayed in Customized Pages.
